Retirement

Retirement is a major life transition....

Retirement is a major life event and you’ll want to embrace it, not just face it.

When you visualize this next phase, do you see a fulfilling, purposeful and satisfying existence? Do you feel crystal clear on what you need to do to get there?

A financial planner can help you plan for your financial retirement, but he/she focuses only on your finances. Getting your finances in order is essential, however there is more to your life than being able to afford it.

A Certified Non-Financial Life Transition Coach understands how this life change can affect so many aspects of your well-being. This next phase of your life can be designed by you or you can passively wait and see what happens. Wouldn’t you rather feel like you have some control?

There are several questions to ask yourself:

  • Is your identity primarily connected to what you do for a living

  • What is important to you now, what are your core values

  • What do you really want to be doing

  • What are your anxieties about retiring

  • Are you excited about having free time

  • Are you worried about how you’ll fill your time

  • Do you feel like you have a strong support system in place

  • Are you thinking about your physical health

There is no one way to approach planning for retirement, and no two people will value the same things and paint the same picture. Only you know what is right for you, and the role of the Life Transition Coach is to help you identify what you want, explore your own barriers, and develop a roadmap for getting where you want to end up. The Coach will assist you in delving into ideas and feelings, and will improve your accountability for completing what needs to be done.
